On July 18, Novalima performed in Berlin as part of the “Sonic Pluriverse 2025” festival, a vibrant platform for multicultural dialogue and diverse artistic expressions hosted by Berlin’s Haus der Kulturen der Welt (HKW). The Embassy of Peru in Germany supported both Novalima’s participation and the festival.

Blending Afro-Peruvian rhythms with electronic sounds and contemporary genres, Novalima delivered a dynamic set that highlighted Peru’s rich musical heritage. The performance featured traditional instruments such as the cajón and the quijada de burro, seamlessly woven into the group’s modern fusion style.

The musicians engaged with the audience, signing autographs, sharing their artistic vision, and expressing pride in showcasing Peruvian music on the international stage.

“Sonic Pluriverse 2025,” which took place from June 27 to August 2, focused this year on “bass culture” and the global phenomenon of sound systems. The festival spotlighted artists deeply rooted in bass-driven traditions, who transformed rhythms and melodies into live narratives of resistance and solidarity. Alongside daily concerts by international bands and nightly DJ sets, the program also featured a variety of artistic and cultural activities.
