On January 30, the Peruvian Embassy in Germany, along with its Consulates General in Hamburg, Frankfurt, and Munich, hosted an exclusive screening of the movie Paddington in Peru at the esteemed "Cinemaxx" cinema chain, one of the most significant in Germany. In addition to celebrating Peruvian culture, the event, which was held concurrently in the four towns, provided a chance to market Peru as a prime travel destination.

Around 250 guests attended the screenings, including local authorities, members of the diplomatic corps, the press, and a specialized audience of tour operators and travel agencies. The Peruvian Ambassador to Germany, along with the three consuls, used the event as a platform to highlight the diverse national tourist attractions of Peru, particularly those featured in the movie, such as the Peruvian origin of Paddington Bear and the breathtaking locations depicted throughout the film. Attendees were invited to explore these attractions firsthand, while travel professionals were encouraged to incorporate Peru into their offerings for the German market.

Peruvian food was also included during the occasion, and attendees savored canapés and pisco sours that highlighted the nation's culinary customs. A raffle with a ticket to Peru was also held at the four concurrent events, and participants were given Peruvian bags filled with pamphlets with comprehensive travel information about the nation.

This event was supported by the Commercial Office of Peru in Hamburg and sponsored by the airline Air Europa, marking a significant effort to connect Peruvian culture with potential visitors. The attendees expressed their appreciation for the event, highlighting not only the heartwarming film experience but also the unique opportunity to engage with Peru's tourism and culture.

Earlier, on January 19, Studio Canal, the film's production and distribution firm, hosted a huge premiere of Paddington in Peru in Berlin's famous Zoo Palast theater. Prominent people, including the Peruvian Ambassador to Germany and the British chargé d'affaires, attended the premiere, which drew some 1,900 visitors. German actors dubbed the characters. To add to the excitement of the event, a costumed Paddington Bear made an unexpected appearance.

The premiere also featured booths from a number of businesses and organizations, such as Golden Toast, which served sandwiches with jam in homage to Paddington's favorite snack, and UNICEF, which is conducting a fundraising campaign by providing monthly subscriptions of Paddington Bear postcards for kids in Germany. A supermarket marketing that highlighted oranges, their main product, was another way that the SanLucar group, a fresh fruit and vegetable marketer, took advantage of the movie's focus on the fruit.

The successful promotional events organized by the Peruvian Embassy not only enhanced the visibility of the Paddington in Peru film but also played a key role in boosting awareness of Peru’s rich culture and natural beauty. The inclusion of stunning Peruvian landscapes in the film, along with the widespread promotional efforts, is expected to have a positive impact on tourism to Peru, offering the German public an exciting opportunity to explore the country’s attractions in person.
