In the first week of July, the Argentine Embassy in Berlin hosted the ceremonial opening of the banner exhibition and the accompanying study "Cultural Heritage of the Volga Germans in Argentina." The event marked a significant celebration of the rich cultural heritage of the Volga Germans in Argentina, a community that still numbers around 800,000 people today.

The event began with a reception for the delegations of the Verbundenheit Foundation from seven Latin American countries. Tomás Villalba, Deputy Ambassador of the Argentine Embassy, warmly welcomed the guests. Ambassador Fernando Brun of Argentina officially opened the exhibition with a welcoming speech, highlighting his connections with the Volga German community.

A notable highlight was the video message from Rogelio Frigerio, the Governor of the Argentinian province of Entre Ríos, a region significantly influenced by Volga German immigration. Governor Frigerio emphasized that an estimated 15% of the province's population has Volga German roots. The study, created in collaboration with the Bavarian Cultural Center of Germans from Russia (BKDR), is the third publication in the Verbundenheit Foundation's "Weltverbunden" series. It was funded by the Bavarian State Ministry for Family, Labor and Social Affairs.

The authors of the study, Dr Olga Litzenberger and Dr Sergey Terekhin, travelled to Argentina to conduct extensive research for this scientific work. Their efforts were acknowledged and appreciated by the attendees. The event featured speeches from Hartmut Koschyk, Chairman of the Foundation's Board, and Dr. Marco Just Quiles, Deputy Managing Director of the Foundation. Both speakers underscored the importance of the study and the historical connections between the immigration of Volga Germans to Argentina and the earlier German emigration to the Volga.

Musical accompaniment was provided by Germán Sack, a Volga German composer and songwriter from Argentina, who performed German and Volga German songs, adding a cultural touch to the event. Sack, known for his performances at folk festivals, sang in German, Volga German, and Spanish.

Thomas Kreutzmann, a member of the foundation's board of trustees, supported the delegations from Latin America and the foundation's representatives at various locations in the Bundestag and the Foreign Office. Representatives of the youth club of Russian Germans "Why aren't we?" were also present, contributing to the event's success.

The Verbundenheit Foundation expressed sincere gratitude to the authors of the study for their extensive work and congratulated them on the successful publication. Thanks were also extended to the team at the Argentine Embassy for their hospitality and to the guests for their interest in this significant cultural topic. The opening of the "Cultural Heritage of the Volga Germans in Argentina" exhibition was a testament to the enduring cultural ties between Argentina and Germany, highlighting the importance of preserving and celebrating shared heritage.
