News from Berlin. The Natyanjali Festival continues, and March will be a busy month for the Indian embassy. No less than three cultural events will take place at the embassy building in the Tiergartenstraße 17 in Berlin.

On March 24, is a Mohiyattam performance. Mohiyattam is an ancient Indian form of dance, characterised by feminine, round and graceful movements, rhythmic footwork, facial expressions and subtle hand and finger movements. This is sure to entice anyone interested in dance or oriental culture.

The day after, on March 25, the embassy organises plays the movie Raincoat. The movie tells about a boy, Manoj, who is tasked by his mother with going to Calcutta to collect money for his sister’s wedding. What happens next is a big adventure including friendship, love, setbacks and achievements. Recommended for anyone who wants to see what Indian movies are about.

Last but not least, there is a stage play called ‘Her Letter’ on March 26. It is based on Rabindranath Tagore's short story 'Streer Patra'. The play questions how women can achieve self-fulfilment in our rapidly changing times.

Each of these events is free of charge, but there is only room for 200 people. Please bring a valid identity card or passport.
