National Day Celebration of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Berlin
At the Iranian Embassy a Day to Celebrate Tradition and Diplomatic Exchange
February 11th, 2025On the occasion of the 46th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, the Iranian Embassy in Berlin hosted a special event to mark the National Day of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The celebration was attended by ambassadors, diplomats from various countries, Iranian citizens residing in Germany, as well as representatives from the political, scientific, cultural, and business sectors.
The ceremony commenced with the national anthems of both the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Federal Republic of Germany. Following this, a video presentation was shown, offering guests a glimpse into the cultural and natural attractions of Iran, highlighting the country’s tourism potential.
Habibollah Malekshah, Chargé d'Affaires at the Iranian Embassy, delivered a speech reflecting on the achievements of the Islamic Revolution in areas such as science, infrastructure, energy, and defense. He emphasized the transformative impact of the revolution on Iran’s history and the resilience of the Iranian people in overcoming various challenges.
Malekshah also stressed the importance of fostering Iran’s cultural and diplomatic ties with other nations, identifying economic diplomacy and neighborhood relations as key priorities for Iran's foreign policy. He highlighted Iran's active involvement in international organizations, including BRICS, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), and the D-8 group.
A cultural highlight of the evening was the "Hafez Oracle," an engaging activity that invited guests to explore the poetry of Hafez, one of Iran's most revered poets. His work, particularly influential in Germany through its impact on Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, provided a meaningful cultural experience for attendees.
In closing, Malekshah reiterated the principles of Iran's foreign policy, including support for people's rights and Iran’s ongoing commitment to Palestine. He also noted the long-standing diplomatic relationship between Iran and Germany, emphasizing the significance of the 400,000 Iranians living in Germany and the desire for further cooperation between the two countries.
