Nasser Bourita
Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation
Mr. Nasser Bourita, appointed by His Majesty King Mohammed VI on Wednesday, April 5, 2017, as Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, was born on May 27, 1969 in Taounate.
After a Bachelor's degree in Public Law (International Relations) from the Faculty of Legal, Economic and Social Sciences in Rabat in 1991, Mr Bourita, who held the post of Deputy Minister to the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Graduate Certificate in International Relations (1993), then a DES. In Public International Law (1995) of the same Faculty.
In 2002, Mr. Bourita held the post of Head of the UN Main Bodies Department, before being appointed Adviser to the Mission of Morocco to the European Communities in Brussels (2002-2003).
From December 2003 to 2006, he was appointed Head of Division of the United Nations and between 2006-2009 he was appointed Director of the United Nations and International Organizations within the Ministry .
Subsequently, Mr. Bourita successively assumed the functions of Head of Cabinet of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ambassador, Director General of Multilateral Relations and Global Cooperation.
Since 2011, he has been appointed Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, a position he held until his appointment on 6 February 2016 by HM the King, Minister Delegate to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation.
Mr. Bourita is married and has two children.
