Mexican-German Cooperation In Quality Infrastructure
A dialogue aiming to increase the wellness of producers and consumers toward the digitalization and new technologies
August 21st, 2019In our global and technological society we are used to the see as sustainable mobility technologies and the huge data collection have great potential for innovation and economic growth. Furthermore, daily challenges that, for instance, regard cybersecurity and product interoperability, are faced by the development of Industry 4.0.
One talks about avoiding and eliminating those barriers barriers to trade due to a lack of interoperability between sectors, companies and devices, to increase and improve the Quality Infrastructure. Hence, in order to ensure compliance of goods and services with national and international standards and thus facilitate trade and economic development of countries, the Federal Ministry of Economy and Energy (BMWi) of Germany and the Ministry of Economy (SE) of Mexico have already decided, in the year 2018, to establish the Mexican-German Dialogue on Quality Infrastructure. To this end, agreed technical measures are implemented together with the actors involved, such as government agencies, conformity assessment bodies and test laboratories, as well as private companies and industrial associations.
Ranging topics from the from the simplification of procedures in the field of compulsory certification, the application of international standards in the field of information technology security to the improvement of market surveillance of products between companies have been decided. Furthermore, by the digitization and technologies of Industry 4.0, the dialogue platform provides the opportunity for experts from both countries to define a regulatory framework necessary to support innovation and economic development.
Just wait for the Annual Meeting of the Mexican-German Working Group on Quality Infrastructure that will be held on October 10, 2019. It will be the most important event of bilateral cooperation in this area where cooperation issues for 2019-2020 will be defined.
