Foreign Minister Kamikawa conveyed her congratulations on the 30th anniversary of the twin town relationship between the State of Berlin and the Prefecture of Tokyo. She pointed out that Berlin is an important base for the activities of Japanese companies and asked for support for these companies and the Japanese living in the city.

Governing Mayor Wegner introduced Berlin's participation in next year's EXPO 2025 Osaka, Kansai, and both sides agreed to use this opportunity to further develop relations between Japan and Germany and Berlin. The Foreign Minister also pointed out that the Berlin-based Japan-German Center Berlin (JDZB) is an important forum for bilateral exchanges and expressed her gratitude for Berlin's support in maintaining the center. Both confirmed that they would work together on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the founding of the JDZB next year in order to further promote the activities of the center.
