Lunchtime Concert Festival Hosted by the Irish Embassy

From the 24th to the 28th of August, the Irish Embassy will be holding a lunchtime concert festival

This week the Irish Embassy will host a festival of lunchtime concerts, held daily at 13:00 in the original building of the Mendelssohn-Bank. The concerts, which are hosted by the Irish Embassy, will be presented by Judith Ingolfsson and Vladimir Stoupel.

On each day a different artist will be performing. Robert Elibay-Hartog, baritone, Hsiao Yen-Chen, Piano, will be performing Robert Schumanns “Dichterliebe” to begin the festival. There will be performances over the next few days: Mao Zhao on Violin, with Albertina Euniui Song, on Piano, performing Beethoven’s Sonata Nr.9 A-Dur op-47 “Kreutzer” and Sarasates fantasy over Bizets “Carmen” on Tuesday. Vashti Hunter, Cello & Jonian Ilias Kadesha, Violin, will be performing Three Inventions and Suite Nr. 3 C-Dur by J.S. Bach; Sonate Nr. 4 e-moll op. 27 by Eugène Ysaÿe and Sonatine for Violine and Cello, H. 80 by Artur Honegger on Wednesday. On Thursday, Elisabeth Stützer, Soprano, & Sergey Neller, piano, will be performing “On a Journey“ – Consisting of pieces by Franz Schubert, Max Reger, Johannes Brahms, Gustav Mahler, Hugo Wolf, Hans Pfitzner, Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy and Richard Strauss. To end the week of concerts, Michael McHale, piano, will be performing pieces byLudwig van Beethoven, Philip Hammond, Garret Sholdice und Franz Liszt.

This promises to be a week of great events for classical music fans. The entrance is free, with the Irish Embassy asking for donations if possible. Tickets are available from 11am on the day of the event and doors open at 12:30pm.
