LT.art Vienna 2026: Polyphony of Space

The 2026 edition of LT.art Vienna, titled "Polyphony of Space," is a multidisciplinary series of events held from June to November 2026 throughout various venues in Vienna. This initiative showcases the work of several Lithuanian artists to promote deep artistic exchange between Austria and Lithuania. Curated by Katarzyna Bitowt, the festival is organized with the support of the Lithuanian Council for Culture, the 17th District, and the Lithuanian Embassy in Vienna.

The central theme explores a "pluricultural mythological worldview" where distinct realms—the sky, earth, and underworld—coexist and collaborate simultaneously. Participants are invited to reflect on their relationship with the spaces they move through, including digital environments, domestic interiors, and rigid social structures. By addressing "vertical spatial politics," the festival uses sound, text, and movement to highlight the invisible connections present in everyday life.

The extensive program includes concerts, workshops, exhibitions, and film screenings. Early events featured the "Feedback in Between" concert and the "HydroNoise" workshop at the Otto Wagner Areal. Subsequent programming includes the "Domestic Astronomy" exhibition at Improper Walls, a classical and contemporary concert at Klavier Galerie, and a film screening curated by Lithuanian Shorts. These diverse offerings create a "living multivocal fabric" designed to sustain connections and break limiting patterns.

By utilizing varied locations like Admiral Kino and various local galleries, the festival establishes a "temporary ecology of practices" within the city.
