On Friday, May 23, we had the pleasure of welcoming a distinguished delegation from the State of Kuwait to the Institute for Cultural Diplomacy, led by H.E. Reem Mohammed Khaled Al-Khaled, Ambassador of Kuwait to Germany, and H.E. Nasser S. B. Alsabeeh, Assistant Foreign Minister in charge of the Saud N. Al-Sabah Kuwait Diplomatic Institute. This visit marked a significant step towards intercultural dialogue and collaboration between diplomatic institutions.

During the visit, we were also joined by Mr. Humood Al-Otaibi and Ms. Marwa Al-Arada, diplomatic attachés, who, alongside Ambassador Al-Khaled and Assistant Foreign Minister Alsabeeh, toured our facilities and participated in an institutional exchange meeting with our Director General, Mark Donfried. It was truly an honor to share our initiatives in public diplomacy and explore common ground in diplomatic training and international cooperation.

Ambassador Reem Al-Khaled stands out as one of the most influential figures in Kuwaiti diplomacy. With a career spanning over 30 years in the foreign service, she has served as Ambassador to Canada and Chile, and has received distinctions such as the Arab Woman Award in 2017 and the title of “Ambassador of the Year for the Middle East” in 2023. A polyglot with a solid academic background in International Relations, she is an inspiring model of female diplomatic leadership.

For his part, H.E. Nasser S. B. Alsabeeh plays a crucial role in shaping Kuwait’s diplomatic capacity through his leadership of the Saud N. Al-Sabah Kuwait Diplomatic Institute. The Institute, under the authority of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is dedicated to the training and development of future Kuwaiti diplomats, fostering academic and strategic partnerships worldwide. His presence in Berlin underscores a strong commitment to international engagement and institutional exchange.

We sincerely thank the Embassy of Kuwait in Germany and the Kuwait Diplomatic Institute for their visit. It reflects a shared dedication to cultural diplomacy, dialogue, and long-term cooperation between Germany and Kuwait. By building bridges between institutions, both parties took an important step toward reinforcing mutual understanding and fostering global peace through diplomatic education and cultural exchange. Hosting this meeting at the ICD was a genuine privilege.
