South Korean Artist Jongsuk Yoon Exhibits Historic Kumgansan at Mumok Vienna

The Museum of Modern Art Ludwig Foundation (Mumok) in Vienna is currently hosting a prominent solo exhibition by South Korean painter Jongsuk Yoon, showcasing her monumental mural series titled "Kumgangsan."
The exhibition represents a profound exercise in visual cultural diplomacy, utilizing large-scale painterly landscapes to foster cross-cultural dialogue within the Austrian capital. Yoon’s core inspiration, the Diamond Mountain (Kumgangsan), sits within North Korean territory, serving as a powerful geopolitical symbol of the traumatic 1945 division of the Korean Peninsula.
