Kenyan Embassy Invites Participation in Bürgerfest 2024 at Bellevue Palace
Celebrating Volunteerism, Kenyan Culture, and Bilateral Relations in Berlin
July 16th, 2024The Embassy of Kenya in Germany, in collaboration with the Kenya Diaspora Alliance Germany (K-DAG) e.V., warmly invites Kenyans and friends of Kenya to partake in the Bürgerfest 2024 at Bellevue Palace in Berlin on September 14, 2024. This year's festival, hosted by the Federal President, will celebrate volunteer work and promote voluntary civil society engagement, with a special emphasis on Africa. In a historic first, Kenya will be the festival's international partner, honored by the presence of President William Ruto.
The theme for this year’s Citizens' Festival is "Pamoja - Stronger Together." This Swahili motto underscores the festival’s focus on unity and collaboration, reflecting the diverse social commitments of non-profit organizations, volunteers, and companies. It provides a unique platform to showcase the rich cultural heritage and vibrant social initiatives of Kenya and other African nations.
Guests at the Bürgerfest will have the exclusive opportunity to explore the official residence of the Federal President. This includes a tour of the palace gardens, as well as the offices and representative rooms where significant state functions are held. The event also aims to enhance cultural exchange and understanding by presenting the diverse traditions, arts, and innovations from Kenya and the wider African continent.
Beyond the celebration of volunteerism, the Bürgerfest 2024 will highlight Kenya’s pivotal role in fostering international cooperation and cultural exchange. Various activities and exhibitions will be organized to educate visitors about Kenya’s history, cultural diversity, and contributions to global development. Attendees can look forward to vibrant cultural performances, traditional Kenyan cuisine, and informative sessions on volunteer opportunities and social initiatives.
Ambassador Stella Mokaya Orina emphasized the importance of this event in strengthening the bonds between Kenya and Germany. She appeals to all Kenyans in Germany to attend with their families and friends, to celebrate their heritage and the spirit of community. This event is a testament to the close ties between the two nations and their shared commitment to fostering a more inclusive and engaged global society.
Participation in the event is free, but registration is required to ensure smooth coordination. The Embassy encourages early registration to secure your place at this significant celebration. Join us in Berlin to celebrate volunteerism, cultural diversity, and the strong partnership between Kenya and Germany.
