The 2025 edition of the Architecture Biennale will run from May 10 to November 23 under the theme “Intelligens. Natural. Artificial. Collective.”, and is expected to gather leading voices in architecture, urbanism, and interdisciplinary design. The Berlin presentation, held at the Italian Embassy, offered a first look into the exhibition’s concept and Italy’s central role in promoting global discourse on the future of built environments.

During the evening, Ambassador Armando Varricchio welcomed a selected audience of diplomats, cultural professionals, and academics. Guests were introduced to the curatorial vision of Carlo Ratti, who seeks to explore how intelligence—be it human, artificial, or ecological—can reshape architecture and urban life in response to today’s global challenges.

A multimedia display featured video interviews with Ratti and Biennale curators, along with renderings of pavilions and thematic installations that will be presented in Venice. Special attention was given to the Italian Pavilion, showcasing Italy’s commitment to sustainability and innovation in architectural practices.

This preview, supported by La Biennale di Venezia and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, underscored the significance of cultural diplomacy through architecture using creative expression to stimulate international cooperation and intellectual exchange.
