The Embassy of Italy in Berlin officially launched the first edition of the Italian Week in Germany in May 2026, introducing a nationwide programme of cultural events to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Italian Republic and 75 years of diplomatic relations between Italy and Germany.

The initiative brings together exhibitions, concerts, film screenings, conferences, culinary events, and educational activities in several German cities. The programme highlights the richness of Italian artistic heritage while showcasing contemporary creativity in fields such as design, music, cinema, literature, and gastronomy.

Coordinated by the Embassy of Italy together with the Italian Cultural Institutes, the Italian Trade Agency, and other institutional partners, Italian Week aims to strengthen cultural dialogue and deepen bilateral cooperation. The programme also promotes exchanges between artists, cultural professionals, academic institutions, and the wider public.

By organizing Italian Week, the Embassy of Italy reinforces the role of cultural diplomacy in fostering mutual understanding and strengthening the long-standing friendship between Italy and Germany through culture, innovation, and shared European values.
