Italian Cultural Institute in London Promotes New Literary Exchange Programme
Competition highlights the role of language and literature in cultural diplomacy

The Italian Cultural Institute in London has launched a new edition of its literary competition “Match Point 2026: Ricordi”, reaffirming the role of culture and literature in strengthening ties between Italy and the United Kingdom. The initiative forms part of a broader effort to promote Italian language and contemporary literary expression among UK-based audiences.
Organised by the Italian Cultural Institute in London, the fifth edition of the competition invites UK residents to submit unpublished short stories written in Italian. The programme is conducted in partnership with several literary organisations, including Il Circolo Italian Cultural Association, Londra Scrive and Premio Calvino. The submission deadline is set for 14 June 2026.
The initiative aims to encourage creative writing while fostering engagement with the Italian language outside Italy. By supporting literary production and intercultural participation, the competition contributes to cultural exchange between Italian and British communities.
