Italian Companies Lead Dialogue on Public-Private Partnerships at the Embassy in Berlin
“G2B – Public-Private Partnership for Growth” Highlights Opportunities for Italian Business in Germany
May 09th, 2025On April 3rd, 2025, the Embassy of Italy in Berlin hosted an important event titled “G2B – Public-Private Partnership for Growth. A Discussion”, bringing together Italian companies operating in Germany and representatives of Italian institutions. The gathering placed a spotlight on the importance of public-private collaboration to enhance the presence of Italian businesses within the German market, aligning with Italy’s “Diplomazia della crescita” export strategy, introduced by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonio Tajani last March.
In his opening remarks, Ambassador Fabrizio Bucci emphasized the strategic role of this initiative as a starting point for a structured, long-term dialogue between public institutions and private enterprises. “Our meeting today aims to become a permanent discussion forum — a platform for sharing ideas and maximizing teamwork, fostering a reinforced partnership between public and private sectors,” Ambassador Bucci stated. “Our shared ambition is to reach €700 billion in exports by 2027. To achieve this, the ‘Sistema Italia’ will mobilize expertise, know-how, and resources to support Italian businesses worldwide.”
The Ambassador also underlined the enduring strength of the Italian-German economic relationship and stressed the need to continue strengthening ties between the two countries. “Only through unity and collective action can we safeguard economic stability and ensure that trade remains a force for growth and cooperation, not division.”
A key component of the event was a panel discussion moderated by Isabella Bufacchi, journalist for Il Sole 24 Ore. The panel brought together representatives from Italy’s institutional network in Germany, including Ferdinando Fiore, Director of ICE – Italian Trade Agency Berlin; Raffaele Tartaglia Polcini, Financial Attaché; Piergiorgio Alotto, Science Attaché; and Marco Tripodi, Financial Police Attaché at the Embassy. They were joined by Eliomaria Narducci, Secretary General of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Germany (Frankfurt), and Bortolo Venturelli, Vice President of the Italian-German Chamber of Commerce in Munich.
The conversation explored the tools available within the “Sistema Italia in Germania” framework to support the international growth of Italian companies, identifying both opportunities and challenges in the German market.
The meeting concluded with an interactive working session involving representatives of prominent Italian companies active in Germany — including Angelini Pharma, De Cecco, Intesa Sanpaolo, and Unicredit. This final session provided a valuable opportunity for participants to exchange perspectives on their business activities, discuss market challenges, and explore new forms of collaboration with the Italian institutional network in Germany to further strengthen their position in the market.
