On June 1, 2024, an Intercultural Day between Austria and Burkina Faso was held in the form of a dialogue on climate health co-organized by the Association of Burkina Faso Nationals in Austria (ARBA) and the Austrian Movement of Young Workers (MAJO) under the patronage of the Embassy of Burkina Faso in Vienna.

The event aimed to provide a platform for cultural dialogue, reflection, and exchanges on the theme of climate change. It featured two panels, a cultural exhibition, presentations on investment opportunities in Burkina Faso, a fashion show, artistic workshops for children, and a musical performance.

The panels respectively addressed "the state of climate change worldwide and in Burkina Faso in particular" and "actions taken in Europe to combat the effects of climate change: what perspectives for a Sahelian country like Burkina Faso?"

The panels were led by academics, researchers, climate change experts, development specialists, and diplomats.

After moderating the first panel, Ambassador Maïmounata Ouattara was a panelist for the second theme, during which she presented the indigenous methods adopted in Burkina Faso to mitigate the effects of climate change and the challenges of implementing them in the context of terrorism.

A special mention to ARBA which, in a creative and innovative patriotic approach, has engaged in a structured and appropriation-driven reflection with MAJO, an NGO that has been active in Burkina Faso since the 1960s with sustainable impact projects such as the Austro-Burkinabè Center transferred to the Burkinabè state in 1995.
