India-Germany Veterinary Sciences Meeting: Strengthening Bilateral Cooperation

July 30th, 2024On 22nd of July, the Embassy of India in Germany hosted a significant hybrid meeting aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation in veterinary sciences between India and Germany. This gathering brought together esteemed leaders and experts from prominent veterinary institutions in both countries, focusing on the advancement of veterinary education, research, and collaboration.
Dr. Ramanuj Banerjee, the Science Counsellor at the Indian Embassy in Germany, delivered the opening address. He emphasized the importance of this meeting as a pivotal step in deepening the India-Germany partnership in veterinary sciences. The discussions centred on various aspects of collaboration, including mobility programs for students and researchers, specialized training, and joint research initiatives aimed at addressing global challenges in veterinary and animal sciences.
The event featured participation from notable Indian institutions such as the Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, and the National Academy of Veterinary Sciences, alongside German counterparts like the Universität Leipzig, Freie Universität Berlin, and the Stiftung Tierärztliche Hochschule Hannover. The Ministry of External Affairs and the Department of Science and Technology from India also supported this initiative, highlighting the strategic importance of enhancing scientific and educational ties between the two nations.
The meeting underscored the commitment of both India and Germany to fostering a robust collaborative framework in the veterinary field, aiming to leverage shared knowledge and resources for mutual benefit and global impact.
