The Embassy of India in Berlin and the Consulate General of India in Munich organised a business event in Nuremberg to promote collaboration between Indian organic manufacturers and German and EU retailers. The initiative aims to capitalise on the growth of the organic market in both regions.

The event, entitled ‘Expanding Partnerships and Collaboration among Indian Organic Product Manufacturers and German/EU Retailers’, was held on 12 February 2025 at the Nürnberg Messe. It was attended by a high-level delegation from India and several Indian exhibitors attending Biofach India 2025, the world's leading trade fair for organic products. This event serves as a crucial platform for sourcing, networking and learning within the organic, natural and millet sectors. It brings together manufacturers, suppliers and industry stakeholders to explore new partnerships and foster valuable connections.

During the event, various strategies to expand partnerships and explore new markets were discussed. The Consul General of India in Munich, Shatrughna Sinha, and the Chairman of the Export Development Authority for Food and Processed Products (APEDA), Abhishek Dev, opened the event with a very clear objective. Both highlighted the export potential and trade opportunities for Indian organic products. They also underlined that there are already government policies and initiatives in place to support this type of agriculture in the country.

In addition, the Minister of Agriculture and Horticulture of the Government of Sikkim, Puran Kumar Gurung, and the market specialist of the Import Promotion Desk (IPD), Dorra Zairi, gave presentations detailing the keys to what the demand for organic products in the EU and Germany will be like in the future.

The event concluded with a question and answer session and networking opportunity for attendees at India's leading trade fair for the organic industry.
