Two major initiatives launched this month by Indian institutions are offering global participants new opportunities to engage with Hindi language and Indian heritage. The Hindi Olympiad Foundation has opened registration for the 2025 International Hindi Olympiad and Amrit Kumbh Samman, while the Embassy of India in Berlin has announced the 2nd edition of the Pravasi Bharatiya Express—a curated luxury train tour across India for Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs).

The Hindi Olympiad, approved by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), invites students from grades 1 to 10 around the world to test their knowledge of Hindi in a two-phase competition. Top performers will receive certificates, medals, trophies, and cash prizes, and all participants and teachers will be recognized for their contributions to language promotion. The examination will be held between August and November 2025, and registrations must be submitted by May 31 to access mock exams and preparatory materials.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of External Affairs and IRCTC have jointly launched the 2nd edition of the Pravasi Bharatiya Express, a three-week cultural rail journey through 17 iconic Indian destinations. Running from 21 October to 8 November 2025, the luxury tour is open to Persons of Indian Origin aged 45–65 and coincides with India’s vibrant festival season. The all-inclusive package, includes premium on-board amenities, but requires participants to arrange their own international airfare. With just 150 seats available, early application is encouraged. The deadline to apply is 20 May 2025.

Both programs reflect India’s broader commitment to diaspora engagement and cultural diplomacy, offering educational and experiential paths for global audiences to connect deeply with India’s living traditions
