Greek Embassy in London Hosts Reception for British School at Athens

The Hellenic Residence in London hosted a reception in honour of the British School at Athens (BSA), bringing together representatives of the institution and members of the diplomatic and academic community. The event, held last week, highlighted the School’s long-standing contribution to the study of Greek history and culture.

Greek Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Yannis Tsaousis, welcomed guests and referred to the historical significance of the British School at Athens, which was founded in 1886. Over more than a century, the institution has played a central role in archaeological research and the study of the Greek world, contributing to international scholarship and the preservation of cultural heritage.

Remarks were also delivered by Sir Roderick Beaton, Chair of the BSA Council, and Kate Smith, Council member and former British Ambassador to Greece. Their contributions reflected on the school’s academic work and its role in fostering intellectual exchange between Greece and the United Kingdom.
