Graphic Exposition of the Artist Vasile Botnaru

News from Berlin - On May 15th, the Romanian Embassy in Berlin hosted the opening of the graphic exposition “B from Berlin, from Bach, from Bacovia” created by the artist Vasile Botnaru from Chisinau, Moldova. The event was organised in partnership with the Moldovan Embassy in Berlin. At the opening, the two Ambassadors underlined the historical, cultural and linguistic ties between the two countries as well as the common European values. The intention to continue to promote this form of intercultural dialogue was also expressed, particularly as Berlin represents a very dynamic cultural centre when considering cultural relationships.

The event was also attended by members of the accredited diplomatic body in Germany, representatives of the local academic and cultural centres as well as from the wider public.

Vasile Botnaru was born on January 12th, 1957 in the city of Ciniseuti, Rezina district, Moldova. At the present moment he is the head of the Radio Department at the “Europa Libera” (Free Europe) Radio in Chisinau. His works have also been displayed in France, Germany, Estonia and China. The present exposition was created with an innovative technique that uses red wine and coffee beans as pigment.
