Germany and Argentina Strengthen Clean Energy Cooperation Through Green Hydrogen Webinar
A virtual event highlights opportunities for German companies in Argentina’s growing hydrogen sector
June 27th, 2025On June 25th, 2025, the German-Argentine Chamber of Industry and Commerce (AHK Argentina), in collaboration with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK), hosted the webinar “Green Hydrogen in Argentine Industry – Business Opportunities for German Solution Providers.” This online event aimed to strengthen economic ties between Germany and Argentina by fostering collaboration in the emerging field of green hydrogen.
The webinar was part of the German government's Export Initiative Energy, designed to support German companies in entering international markets with innovative energy solutions. It gathered stakeholders from the private sector, government, and research institutions from both countries.
The event provided a comprehensive overview of Argentina’s potential for green hydrogen production, particularly for industrial applications in sectors such as steel manufacturing, ammonia production, and refineries. Experts presented current market conditions, regulatory frameworks, and economic forecasts that highlight Argentina as a promising destination for hydrogen investments.
Speakers emphasized how Argentina's abundant renewable energy resources—particularly wind and solar—create ideal conditions for producing green hydrogen competitively. Representatives from GIZ and the Project Development Programme (PEP) shared insights into existing support mechanisms for German businesses looking to develop projects in Argentina.
Beyond technical discussions, the webinar showcased how Germany’s diplomatic and economic engagement in Latin America increasingly focuses on sustainable development and climate cooperation. Strengthening the hydrogen economy is not only an economic opportunity but also a shared commitment to global decarbonization goals.
The session concluded with a networking segment that allowed German technology providers to connect with Argentine industrial leaders, laying the groundwork for future partnerships. Events like this underscore the importance of economic diplomacy in fostering innovation and addressing global challenges through international collaboration.
This webinar is part of Germany’s broader effort to support the global energy transition, deepen bilateral relations with Argentina, and position German companies at the forefront of the clean energy revolution in Latin America.
