The German Embassy in Accra, in collaboration with the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and GIZ, successfully concluded a two-day workshop in August 2025 aimed at developing Ghana’s “AI Practitioners’ Guide.”

The workshop brought together a diverse group of stakeholders, including people living with disabilities, representatives from various communities, industry professionals, and subject-matter experts in artificial intelligence. This collaborative approach ensured that the guide reflects a wide range of perspectives and experiences, promoting an AI ecosystem that is inclusive and representative of all segments of Ghanaian society.

As part of the FAIR Forward – Artificial Intelligence for All initiative, the project emphasizes the development of AI that is responsible, equitable, and accessible. By incorporating input from historically underrepresented groups, the initiative seeks to foster technological innovation that benefits the entire population while addressing existing inequalities in the tech sector.

Following the conclusion of the first workshop, participant feedback will be carefully integrated into the second draft of the guide, ensuring that it provides practical guidance and insights for AI practitioners across Ghana. The German Embassy’s involvement underscores Germany’s commitment to supporting inclusive digital transformation and advancing international cooperation in the field of technology and innovation.

Through initiatives like this, the German Embassy in Accra continues to strengthen bilateral ties with Ghana, while promoting sustainable and socially responsible technological development that serves as a model for regional and global AI initiatives.
