German-Bahrain Bilateral Relationship Enhances With The Visit Of Bahrain's Foreign Minister To Berlin

News from Berlin - Foreign Minister Shaikh Khalid Bin Ahmed Bin Mohammed Al Khalifa met his German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier on October 21st as part of his official visit to Germany.

The two foreign ministers held talks where they discussed how to tackle regional and international developments and how to develop bilateral relations between the two countries.

The Bahraini Foreign Minister stressed that Bahrain was eager to enhance ties with Germany to ensure the common interests of both Bahrain and Germany are fulfilled. Each minister stressed the importance of visits by officials as a means to widen political and economic opportunities. Shaikh Khalid said that the advancement of these relations reflected the desire of both leaderships’ to cooperate on a variety of issues for sustained development, all of which was agreed upon by Dr Steinmeier.

Shaikh Khalid also recognised the German parliament’s youth exchange programs and language courses and expressed the need to take advantage of them, in order to ensure the horizons for opportunities were widened.

This visit was in accordance with Bahrain’s efforts to communicate with the international community to discuss issues and reach a mutual understanding on the various issues facing the world today.

Shaikh Khalid also met with Petra Pau, the Vice-President of Germany to discuss regional and international issues and review opportunities for cooperation. Pau also expressed her support for Bahrain’s stance on various regional and international issues, giving praise to the parliamentary and municipal elections that are to be held November 22nd.
