The press trip which took place in the framework of the Czech Republic's participation in the Leipzig Book Fair in March consisted of over 30 journalists coming from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Together with the Director of the Leipzig Book Fair, Oliver Zille they spent four days in the Czech Republic. On Wednesday 30th the journalists were welcomed by Antonín Staněk at the Ministry of Culture in Prague.

"The presentation of 60 authors who translated Czech literature into the German language and the subsequent presentation of seventy translations during the fourteen months of the so-called Czech year is indeed a biggest project since 1995" said Staněk.

The journalists visited major Czech cities, starting in Brno by meeting some of the authors which will present their work during the Leipzig Book Fair. Then they moved to Prague where, in addition to meeting authors and visiting the Ministry of Culture they met with the Ambassador of Germany to Prague Christopher Israngem and the Goethe Institut Director Angelika Ridder.
