President Steinmeier was received by Joseph Aoun, President of the Republic of Lebanon, at the Baabda Presidential Palace. The discussions focused on bilateral relations as well as the broader security situation in the region. Both sides addressed the importance of maintaining stability and reinforcing state institutions in Lebanon following recent regional conflicts.

The German president also met with Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam and Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri. These meetings formed part of a broader diplomatic program intended to reaffirm Germany’s engagement with Lebanon and support for political dialogue and institutional cooperation.

During the visit, President Steinmeier emphasized Germany’s continued commitment to Lebanon’s stability and reconstruction efforts. Germany has been involved in supporting Lebanese state institutions and contributes to the United Nations peacekeeping mission in southern Lebanon through participation in the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon.

The visit highlighted the longstanding relationship between Lebanon and Germany and reaffirmed both countries’ interest in maintaining dialogue and cooperation across political, economic, and humanitarian fields. Such diplomatic engagements continue to play an important role in supporting stability and development in the region.
