Finnish President Alexander Stubb visits Berlin

Topics of conversation included, among other things, bilateral relations between Finland and Germany, cooperation in NATO, support for Ukraine, the Middle East and the global security situation.

“I am very happy that Finland has been a member of NATO since last year. Accession strengthens Finland” – Chancellor Olaf Scholz received Finnish President Alexander Stubb in Berlin. The North European country's accession to NATO also strengthens Scandinavia and the common security in Europe, the Chancellor said in a joint press statement before the conversation with Stubb in the Federal Chancellery.

During his visit he also met with Hertie School students at the Center for International Security. After his speech on the topic "Comprehensive security in the 21st century - the Finnish model", the students had the opportunity to ask the president questions. Furthermore, the President also welcomed the staff of the Finnish Embassy.
