Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier invites to the Citizens' Festival in Bellevue Castle and the Castle Park on 30th and 31th August 2019. The partners countries this year are Finland and North Rhine, that will present themselves with culinary, cultural and national offers. The focus of the festival is the importance of volunteering for a vibrant, civilized and strong city.

Friday 30th will be dedicated to the thanks of volunteers from all over Germany. Saturday 31th will be the day of the open castle and all citizens will have access to it. Inside you can visit the office of the Federal President of Berlin, discover the commitment and the organization of initiatives and companies and attend to the cultural program.

Indeed, a music program has been organized for the guests of the Bürgerfest: Roland Kaiser with his band, the Finnish cello band Apocalyptica, the young pop star Robin Packalen and the male choir Huutajat will perform at the festival. There will also be the entertainer Gayle Tufts and you can watch the stunts of the Finnish circus circEntropia. In Finnish tents, eco-friendly projects will be presented to the public. The main cooperation partner of the festival is KotkaMills, a pioneering company in the field of recycling.

The event has been organized in collaboration with the Finnish Institute in Germany, Visit Finland and the German-Finnish company.

It can be said that culinary specialties, music and politics meet to allow Cultural Diplomacy to demonstrate its effectiveness again.
