Berliners now have the chance to get a close up of Asian cinema

The Chinese Cultural Center in Berlin has announced its presentation of "The Knot" - a feature film which will take place on the 18th of July 2016 at 7pm local time.

The 2012 film directed by Yin Li, will be featured at the Chinese Cultural Center in Berlin for Asian cinema enthusiasts. The narrative is about two young Taiwanese lovers: Chen Qiushui and Wang Biyun, the daughter of his professor. The film takes place during the 1940's and brings to attention the struggles of the time. Protagonist Qiushui escapes persecution, fleeing to mainland China, ensuring that the two lovers become separated.

Because Chen Qiushui cannot get over his beloved Biyun, he decides to find her again, but without any success. How will the story end? Will Wang Biyun forget Chen Qiushui? All answers to such questions can be answered only after seeing the film.

The length of the film is 110 minutes in Chinese, but it has German subtitles. Those who want to see the film need to book in advance.

The Chinese Cultural Center in Berlin, located in Klingelhöferstr. 21, is a cultural institution of the People's Republic of China, established through the Cultural Agreement between the German and Chinese governments.

Amongst its objectives are to familiarise the German public with Chinese culture, art and education. Therefore promoting cultural exchanges and enhancing mutual understanding and people-to-people cooperation.
