FÊTE DE LA FRANCOPHONIE in Berlin

The international day of the Francophonie will promote the French language through cultural activities in Berlin

On the occasion of the international day of the Francophonie, the Embassy of France along with the CFB (Centre Francais de Berlin) and representatives of the French-speaking lands and regions in Germany invites Germans and the international community to the " Fête de la Francophonie " on Saturday, 21st March, 2015 from 15:00.

This year, the embassies of Senegal and France hold the presidency of the francophone countries, Under the guiding principle, "Francophonie and solidarity", the countries will present various aspects of their cultural and artistic variety throughout the day. 

For instance, Luxembourg is excited to present the animated Luxembourgian short film "to Mr. Hublot", at the francophone film night. The short film, a beautiful screenplay that promotes solidarity, values and diversity, won an Oscar in 2014.

The participating countries wish to strengthen the connections between the different generations, particularly the younger ones. The aim is to immerse young people in t different member-states and their and cultural diversity.

In 2014, the French Institute organized an educational initiative in the schools of Berlin, in collaboration with the French Embassy. All schools that offer French classes had the opportunity to send representatives to visit the French Embassy in order to learn more about the French culture and to practice their language skills. 

This year’s event starts at 15:00 and there are a whole range of activities taking place throughout the day. From culinary experiences to French music groups performing and singing, and from workshops with children to open debates, you can find many reasons to visit to this free and public event in order to enjoy the French culture and all its assets.

The journey ends with performances from DJs and artists from the French-speaking world, a varied musical program that will conclude a day full of experiences and joys for all its participants.

A culturally diverse evening with culinary specialties and a musical program from artists from as far as Burkina Faso, Canada and Québec 
under the motto " Francophonie Solidarité", the participating countries in this evening will present different aspects of their artistic and cultural variety. The sharing of this cultural and diverse heritage aims to inform more people of the francophone world. We every much hope to see you this Saturday at the Embassy!
