Today at Felleshus (Rauchstraße 1), part of Berlin's Nordic Embassies complex, the exhibition “The Sauna. Really hot. Really Finnish.” offers Berliners free access to both sauna sessions and insights into Finland’s rich bathing traditions—provided via prior registration.

On display is a vibrant presentation of Finnish sauna culture, blending photography, documentary videos, and installations. Curated by Jaakko Blomberg and Karoliina Gröndahl, the exhibition captures the significance of sauna in both everyday life and public rituals—through urban, cottage, smoke, tent, and sauna-on-wheels formats.

The centerpiece is a live “Hetki sauna” installation on Felleshus’s roof terrace, offering visitors an authentic Finnish sauna experience in an intimate communal setting. Sessions are free of charge, with attendance by registration—underscoring the event’s commitment to inclusive cultural access.

This initiative illustrates standout Nordic cultural diplomacy: art, tradition, and shared experience converge in one location. As Finnish Ambassador Kai Sauer noted at the exhibition’s launch, "The sauna is Finland’s sanctuary—bringing people together in warmth, simplicity, and honesty."
