On June 12, 2024, an evening dedicated to the life and work of the renowned Kyrgyz writer Chingiz Aitmatov took place in Berlin, with the participation of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Germany. The event was organized in collaboration with the German Society's "Go East Generation e.V.," "German-Russian Festival," and the management of the "Abacus" hotel.

The evening featured a screening of the video film "In the Footsteps of Chingiz Aitmatov," prepared by Sabina Geshke following her trip to Kyrgyzstan in 2023. The organizers also presented brief excerpts from two films based on Aitmatov's short story "Jamila," directed by Irina Poplavskaya in 1969 and German director Monika Teuber in 1994.

Counsellor of the Embassy Aynura Tursumbayeva, in her speech, highlighted the creative legacy of Chingiz Aitmatov and thanked the attendees for their interest in the Kyrgyz writer's work and Kyrgyzstan.

The Embassy organized a small photo exhibition about Kyrgyzstan and musical performances featuring traditional Kyrgyz melodies by compatriot Isida Samat. Guests were also treated to a video about Kyrgyzstan and provided with tourism brochures about the country.

This event not only celebrated the literary contributions of Chingiz Aitmatov but also served to promote the cultural richness and tourism potential of Kyrgyzstan.
