Europe’s Biggest Event On Child and Youth Welfare Arrives in Berlin

News from Berlin - Jugend für Europa (Youth for Europe) and the Child and the Youth Welfare Association (AGJ) will present a central meeting place for Germany's child and youth welfare community at the 15th German Child and Youth Welfare Congress (DJHT). In addition to the the DJHT’s general exhibition with workshops, panel discussions and project presentations, this year a special European programme of events and a European marketplace will be organized. The programme is a contribution to the implementation of the EU Youth Strategy in Germany and provides the possibility to learn about youth empowerment methodologies in marginalized communities across Europe and intercultural activities in kindergartens, to name a few. The ”Marketplace Europe” is again a meeting point for professionals, organisations and providers with a focus on European and international youth work. The DJHT takes place every three years and has an average of 30,000 visitors making it Europe’s biggest event on child and youth welfare. The visitors are professionals as well as volunteers and represent for instance associations, financing structures, local authorities, youth NGOs, ministries at national and regional levels as well as universities.
