Ethiopian Embassy in Berlin Participates in Green Legacy Initiative

Diplomats and staff plant trees, supporting Ethiopia's environmental efforts and global image

On August 23, 2024, diplomats and staff from the Ethiopian Embassy in Berlin planted trees within the embassy compound in support of the Green Legacy campaign. The event was highlighted by the participation of embassy personnel who contributed to this environmental conservation effort by planting seedlings.

At the ceremony, Deputy Head of Mission, Ambassador Hailay Berhane, expressed confidence that Ethiopia's commitment to planting 600 million trees, as previously pledged, would be successfully realized.

He emphasized the importance of such initiatives for building Ethiopia's image abroad and highlighted the need to engage in diplomacy that strengthens Ethiopia’s role as a key player in global environmental efforts.

Ambassador Hailay also remarked on the significance of this campaign in contributing to Ethiopia's sustainability and reaffirmed the embassy's dedication to supporting the nation's development goals.
