Estonian Embassy Hosts Cultural Prelude to International Music Conference in Tallinn
Berlin event highlights artistic excellence and global musical cooperation ahead of IAMA 2026
February 17th, 2026On 10 February 2026, the Embassy of Estonia hosted a special pre-event and seminar in anticipation of the 35th anniversary IAMA International Conference and the 4th Experience Audio Classique. The gathering served as a preview of the international conference scheduled to take place from 14 to 16 April 2026 at the Estonia Concert Hall in Tallinn, an event expected to bring together leading representatives of the global music community.
The seminar highlighted the significance of international cultural cooperation and artistic exchange, reflecting Estonia’s continued commitment to promoting music and dialogue across borders. Participants were welcomed in a spirit of collaboration and shared appreciation for classical music and its evolving global role. Special recognition was extended to Leelo Lehtla, Director and Artist Manager of PLMF Arts Management and Chair of the IAMA Conference, whose inspiring remarks underscored the importance of fostering platforms that support emerging talent and strengthen international artistic networks.
A central highlight of the evening was a concert performance by distinguished Estonian musicians Marcel Johannes Kits (cello) and Sten Heinoja (piano). The artists presented Ludwig van Beethoven’s Sonata for Cello and Piano No. 4 in C major, Op. 102, offering an interpretation marked by artistic sensitivity and technical mastery. The performance reflected Estonia’s rich musical tradition and its contribution to the European classical music landscape.
Both performers are widely regarded among the leading artists of their generation. Cellist Marcel Johannes Kits, a laureate of the Queen Elisabeth Competition and winner of the George Enescu Competition, regularly performs with renowned orchestras worldwide. Pianist Sten Heinoja, a multi-award-winning musician, is recognized for his emotional depth, musical intelligence, and particular affinity for Viennese classics and twentieth-century repertoire. Together, the duo demonstrated exceptional musical synergy, combining precision with expressive artistry.
The evening at the Estonian Embassy provided an inspiring cultural prelude to the forthcoming conference in Tallinn, reinforcing Estonia’s role as an active promoter of international musical dialogue.
