Encountering Danish Literature
March 20th, 2014
News from Berlin. This week sees the Embassy of Denmark in Berlin organize three readings and discussions with Danish authors. On March 21, Kristian Bang Foss will visit the Felleshus building of the Nordic Embassies in order to give a lecture based on his newest book titled ‘Der Tod fährt Audi’. The publication has been hailed as one of the most original works of recent times whilst it has also received a literature prize from the European Union. The line of events continues on Wednesday, March 26, with a reading from Kim Leine. Leine recently received an award from the Nordic Council and the event promises to give interesting insights into Danish history and culture. Finally, March 27 sees the Danish author Janne Teller visit Felleshus in Berlin to give an hour long reading and discussion on her book ‘Nichts’. The work deals with multiple relevant societal issues and predominantly targets a younger audience. All of the aforementioned events are free of charge and look to offer a good opportunity for visitors to gain a broader understanding of Danish literature and culture.
