Amb. Carole Lanteri
H.E. Ms. Carole Lanteri is a highly distinguished and long-serving diplomat within the foreign service of the Principality of Monaco. Having assumed her duties as Permanent Representative in Geneva in 2013, she possesses an extraordinary institutional memory and a deep command of multilateral governance and international humanitarian law.
Throughout her illustrious career, Ambassador Lanteri has held several senior positions within the Prince's Government, particularly within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation. She previously served as the Deputy Permanent Representative of Monaco to the United Nations in New York, where she managed key environmental and social portfolios. Holding advanced degrees in international law, she is widely recognized in Geneva for her strategic alignment of Monaco’s national policies with international human rights standards and her close, influential collaboration with global health and humanitarian leaders.
History

The Permanent Mission in Geneva serves as Monaco's vital connection to the UN Human Rights Council, the World Health Organization (WHO), the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). Historically, Monaco punches far above its weight by acting as one of the most consistent and generous financial contributors per capita to humanitarian emergency funds and international medical research. Under Ambassador Lanteri’s leadership, the mission focuses intensely on advancing the "Blue Economy," advocating for the global protection of marine biodiversity, and championing the right to a healthy environment. Additionally, the mission remains deeply committed to global health security, financing programs to eradicate polio and combat malaria worldwide.
