Embassy of Mexico in Germany commemorates bilateral scientific and technological cooperation agreement
February 20th, 2026The Embassy of Mexico in Germany commemorates the 52nd anniversary of the signing of the Basic Agreement on Scientific and Technological Cooperation between the Government of the United Mexican States and the Federal Republic of Germany. Signed on 6 February 1974, this agreement established the foundations for collaboration between both countries in science, technology, and research.
The agreement set out key objectives, including promoting joint scientific and technological research, strengthening bilateral cooperation, and fostering friendly relations between the two States. It encourages the development of collaborative projects, the exchange of experts, and the transfer of knowledge to enhance research and technological development in both countries. The parties also agreed to facilitate the work of scientific and research personnel.
The agreement was signed by Emilio Óscar Rabasa, Secretary of Foreign Affairs of Mexico, and his German counterpart, Walter Scheel.
