Embassy of Italy in Berlin Launches “Winter Cinema” Film Series from January 26 to March 24, 2026

Beginning Monday, January 26, the Embassy of Italy in Berlin, in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute Berlin, will present Winter Cinema, a film series showcasing a selection of outstanding Italian films in the unique setting of the Embassy’s crypt, which will be opened to the public for this occasion. The initiative offers audiences an opportunity to experience contemporary Italian cinema in a distinctive historical venue.
Winter Cinema continues the Embassy’s longstanding efforts to establish the historic palazzo as a vibrant cultural meeting place for Italians and Berliners alike by regularly opening its premises for cultural activities. Special emphasis is placed on cinema as a powerful medium of artistic expression. Recent initiatives include the premiere of the Netflix television series Il Gattopardo, the traditional reception held in conjunction with the Berlinale, and the successful launch of the summer open-air film series Ciak si gira in 2025, which was warmly received by the public.
All film screenings will begin at 7:00 p.m., with the Embassy welcoming guests from 6:30 p.m. for an aperitif. The program opens on January 26 with The Shadow of the Day, followed by Hidden Away on February 3, September on February 11, The Bad Poet on February 19, Zamora on March 5, The Hidden Child on March 10, Arianna on March 18, and All My Crazy Love on March 24.
