The Embassy of India in Berlin hosted an extraordinary celebration on January 26, 2025, to commemorate India’s 76th Republic Day. The event, held at the Embassy’s cultural hall, brought together diplomats, Indian diaspora members, and German officials to honor the adoption of the Indian Constitution in 1950. This year’s celebration carried special significance as it also marked 70 years of Indo-German diplomatic relations, highlighting the enduring bond between the two nations.

The day began with the ceremonial flag-hoisting by the Indian Ambassador to Germany, followed by the singing of the Indian national anthem. The Ambassador delivered a speech emphasizing the values of democracy, justice, and equality enshrined in the Indian Constitution. A cultural program showcasing the diversity of India enthralled the audience, featuring classical dance forms such as Odissi and Kathak, along with patriotic songs and a performance of fusion music blending Indian and Western styles. An exhibition on India’s constitutional journey and its diplomatic milestones was also unveiled, offering a glimpse into the country’s remarkable history.

The event concluded with a reception, where guests enjoyed a variety of traditional Indian delicacies fostering cultural exchange through cuisine.
