Embassy of Colombia in Austria Publishes the August 2025 Cultural Bulletin
Promoting Colombian culture and building community ties in Austria
August 22nd, 2025On August 30, 2025, the Embassy of Colombia in Vienna will pay tribute to the Petronio Álvarez Festival, one of the most emblematic celebrations of music and culture from Colombia’s Pacific region. Hosted at Die Garten Tulln, the event will bring together for an afternoon and evening of traditional music, dance, ancestral knowledge and gastronomy, highlighting the vibrancy and diversity of the Pacific heritage.
The Embassy’s cultural agenda for August also spotlighted ongoing initiatives aimed at fostering dialogue and intercultural understanding. Among these, the Embassy invited nationals to take part in the upcoming “Costumes of the World” exhibition at the Rathaus on September 23, part of Vienna’s Long Nights of Interculturality. Under the theme “Building Bridges: Culture, Technology, and a Sustainable Future,” the event promises to showcase Colombia’s cultural richness on an international stage.
Complementing these celebrations, Colombians in Austria were encouraged to join guided ecological tours in Spanish at Europe’s first ecological garden exhibition, Natur im Garten. Running daily until October, these tours reflect the Embassy’s broader commitment to connecting cultural identity with environmental awareness.
Through this vibrant agenda, the Embassy of Colombia in Vienna reaffirmed its mission to promote Colombian culture abroad, strengthen community ties and contribute to intercultural dialogue in Austria.
