Embassy of Armenia in Austria Holds Meeting with Austrian Development Agency Director

Ambassador Hovhannisyan meets ADA Director to discuss ongoing cooperation

On 24 March, Ambassador Andranik Hovhannisyan held a meeting with Mr. Bernd Brünner, Director of the Austrian Development Agency (ADA). The meeting focused on the existing cooperation between Armenia and the Agency, as well as on opportunities for further strengthening this partnership. It also provided an occasion to review ongoing programmes and exchange views on areas of mutual interest related to Armenia’s development priorities and broader regional connectivity efforts.

Ambassador Hovhannisyan expressed high appreciation for ADA’s impactful projects in Armenia, noting their important contribution to the country’s sustainable development across a number of key sectors. In particular, he referred to ADA-supported initiatives in agriculture, rural development, vocational education, environmental protection, as well as social infrastructure and services. These areas of cooperation continue to play a meaningful role in supporting Armenia’s development objectives and in fostering practical collaboration between Armenia and the Agency.

During the meeting, the interlocutors exchanged views on ADA’s ongoing programmes and underlined the strong and effective cooperation that has been established between Armenia and the Agency. They reaffirmed their readiness to further deepen this partnership and also discussed prospects for the implementation of new joint initiatives. The discussion reflected the mutual interest in maintaining a constructive and forward-looking framework for cooperation.

Ambassador Hovhannisyan also presented the programmes being implemented within the framework of the Armenia and EU partnership. In addition, he outlined Armenia’s efforts aimed at unblocking regional transport routes, with particular reference to the “Crossroads of Peace” and “TRIPP” initiatives. These issues formed part of the broader exchange on Armenia’s current priorities and ongoing efforts in support of regional cooperation and connectivity.

The meeting reaffirmed the importance of continued engagement between Armenia and the Austrian Development Agency and highlighted the shared interest in advancing cooperation through existing programmes and potential future initiatives.
