Mexican Independence Day celebrations bring the community together across the country

In September 2025, the Mexican community in Germany will once again come together to celebrate El Grito de Independencia, one of the most significant dates in Mexico’s national calendar. A series of events organized by community groups across different German cities will mark the occasion, filling venues with music, gastronomy and the vibrant spirit of Mexican culture.
On 13 September, festivities will unfold simultaneously in several cities. In Berlin, two celebrations are planned: an afternoon gathering at KINK Bar on Schönhauser Allee and an evening event at Pancho-Villa Cantina on Reichenberger Str., where guests will enjoy Mexican food and music until late into the night. Hannover will host its event at Park der Sinne, Hamburg at Haus 73, and Düsseldorf at GRAF 39, with an extended program running from 17:00 to 22:00. In the southwest, Eichstetten’s Gasthof Rebland will also open its doors for the community.
The following weekend, 20 September, the celebrations will continue in Saarbrücken at the Ulanen Pavillon, where a full-day program from 12:00 to 20:00 promises a lively cultural exchange. Düsseldorf will also host a family-oriented gathering at Casita Mexicana Golzheim.
Finally, on 26 September, the month of festivities will close with a celebration in Berlin at El Amigo Taquería (KERB), organized by the Sociedad Mexicana in Berlin.
These events, coordinated by local community associations and cultural promoters, highlight the strength and diversity of the Mexican diaspora in Germany. They offer not only a chance to celebrate Mexican Independence Day but also to share traditions, flavors, and music with friends, families, and the wider public.
The celebrations are open to all, and each city brings its own flavor to the festivities. From traditional dishes and folkloric rhythms to modern interpretations of Mexican identity abroad, El Grito en Alemania 2025 promises to be an unforgettable series of gatherings.
