The Argentinian Embassy presents a special screening as part of its monthly cultural program
February 20th, 2025On February 22, 2025 the Embassy of Argentina in Austria will host a special screening of “Hedy Crilla - Master of Actors” as part of the Cultural activities for the month.
Directed by the Argentinian director Luciana Murujosa, “Hedy Crilla - Master of Actors” tells the story of Hedy Crilla, a Viennese actress who fled the Nazi persecution and found refuge in Argentina. Over the next 40 years, she trained actors and directors, developing her own adaptation of the Stanislavski method, a systematic technique to acting created by Russian theatre practitioner Konstantin Stanislavski in the first part of the twentieth century.
The film made a significant impact when it premiered in Argentina in October 2023, then toured Europe in early 2024. Due to its success, it continued the tour in additional locations in 2025.
The screening will take place at Breitenseer Lichtspiele, originally established as a tent theatre and now recognized as Vienna’s oldest cinema. The venue is renowned for its unique charm, including its original wooden seats.
The screening will also be attended by the director Luciana Murujosa, followed by a Q&A session.
