Czech Embassy In London Promotes National Design At Clerkenwell Design Week
Cultural and economy diplomacy through innovation
June 15th, 2026The Embassy of the Czech Republic in London supported the presentation of Czech design at Clerkenwell Design Week 2026, one of the United Kingdom’s leading design events, showcasing the country’s creativity, innovation, and manufacturing excellence.
The initiative took place through Atelier Bohemia, a London showroom dedicated to Czech design, where visitors were introduced to a diverse range of products including furniture, lighting, glassmaking, and interior design solutions. The exhibition highlighted both established brands and contemporary designers, reflecting the strength and diversity of Czech creative industries.
In addition to the product displays, the programme included networking events, presentations, and cultural activities aimed at strengthening professional and institutional cooperation between Czech and British partners. Works by renowned Czech artist David Černý were also featured as part of the celebrations.
Supported by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in London within the framework of economic diplomacy, the project demonstrated how design can serve as an effective tool of cultural diplomacy. By promoting creativity and innovation, the initiative contributed to strengthening bilateral relations and increasing awareness of Czech culture in the United Kingdom.
