Last night, Saturnalia, a solo exhibition of works by renowned Irish artist Conor Walton, was inaugurated at Galerie Feinart in Berlin. The exhibition, part of the Zeitgeist Irland 24 cultural initiative, was officially opened by Consul Andrew Tyrell from the Embassy of Ireland, alongside gallerist Maria Wirth.

Walton’s art uniquely blends figurative realism with surrealist motifs, creating thought-provoking visuals that challenge conventional boundaries. His use of vivid colors and classical techniques evokes the traditional, while his surrealist elements imbue his pieces with a sense of the extraordinary. The title, Saturnalia, suggests a world turned upside down—a fitting metaphor for Walton's approach, where the familiar is twisted into something both unsettling and fascinating.

The opening event, attended by artists, diplomats, and art enthusiasts alike, showcased Walton's deep engagement with philosophical and artistic questions, from the nature of reality to the role of the artist in a constantly changing world. Speaking at the event, Consul Tyrell praised Walton’s contributions to contemporary Irish art, noting his ability to bridge traditional craftsmanship with modern themes.
