On August 25th, in commemoration of the 33rd anniversary of Ukraine's independence, a day that marks the country's National Holiday, the Embassy of Ukraine in Austria organized a solemn event to honor the occasion. This significant anniversary not only celebrates the establishment of Ukraine as an independent state but also carries deeper meaning in light of the current geopolitical situation.

As part of the event, the Embassy sought to bring attention to the ongoing war, launched in violation of international law by the Russian Federation against Ukraine. To honor those affected by the conflict and to pray for peace, the Ukrainian Embassy invited diplomats, local leaders, members of the Ukrainian community, and the public to gather for a prayer service at St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna, one of Austria's most iconic and historical churches.

The event was not only a religious moment of reflection but also a demonstration of solidarity with Ukraine as it continues to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity amidst external aggression.

This act of remembrance and prayer served as both a spiritual and symbolic gesture, reaffirming Ukraine's resilience, its quest for peace, and the ongoing international support for the nation's struggle against the illegal aggression of the Russian Federation.
