The programme was full of music, art, and conferences that explored the history, cultural diversity, and heritage of Colombia. From musical readings by Gabriel García Márquez and dance workshops to tastings of Colombian coffee and chocolate, the event offered a unique experience to immerse oneself in the country’s vibrant culture. The lectures were simultaneously translated into several languages by students of the Master’s program in Conference Interpreting.

The Tribuna Festival addressed socio-cultural and economic challenges between Graz, the Latin American countries and Spain. Tribuna provided a space for discussion on taking global responsibility in the face of socially and economically challenging issues. Tribuna promoted proactive exchange and created opportunities for action for each visitor.

The relations between Colombia and Austria are complex and multifaced, and although they were initially colonial in nature, diplomatic exchanges between the two countries have now existed for over a hundred years. In today’s globalised world, people work together on a wide variety of challenges, while at the same time a lively cultural and social exchange has become indispensable, especially in a city like Graz.
